Grayscale project for 2D-Design at Winthrop; Fall 2007

Crystallographic paintings from Winthrop; Fall 2007. My least favorite project, and worst picture quality also! Sorry!

I'm back!

It has been quite a long time since I have updated, but now that my internship is coming to an end it should have more time. This weekend I started going through some of my old stuff from Winthrop and other past projects. I am only going to post a couple at a time, but I have lots of projects to show! Be on the look out!

Circle Me Crazyyyyyy

This is my latest creation (like today). I got this idea from something I saw on Etsy, but I changed it so it was easier to make! Oh the possibilities! I think I am going to do letters next or maps! I think it will be awesome framed.

My first real post!

Today I have been taking pictures of various pieces around my apartment that I have created over the past couple of months! I will have SO much more coming, ecspecially after I visit home this weekend. I have so much stuff that never comes out of my portfolio bag, so I am pretty excited to have a reason to go through it!

I got this idea from Amy Butler's website (I LOVE her stuff). She has butterfies and some different birds, but I went with a tree. She also did hers with fabric, but I did mine with scrapbook paper (SO EASY). I am thinking of making this a set of 3...we'll see!

This is my first sewing project ever. It could use a little work, but I am pretty pleased with my first time. The pattern is on Amy Butler's website. I was going to use her fabric, but I decided to go with a cheaper version since I didn't know what I was getting myself into :)!

This is my change jar! It is one of my favorite things I have made. All I did was paint an apple juice jar, and then chip the paint off of it. The top still screws on, I just hot glued a flower hair bow on top. I made the flower by cutting out circles, stacking them in different stacks, and sewing the stacks together in the center. You just have to stagger them to make them look like a flower.

I created this piece after looking for inspiration off of Art.com. The plan was to try to make it my own, but I ended up basically making it the same. I made this with water color and water color paper.

This is kind of silly, but I still think it is SO CUTE! I had a session of Camp Sunshine this past weekend and our theme was Springtime at Sunshine! We made the cutest little bunnies out of socks. All you have to do is pour rice into the bottom of the sock and then stuff it so it is filled at least 3/4 of the way. Tie it off in the middle with ribbon to separate the body and the head. Then use a rubber band at the top to create the ears. When you separate the open part at the top, use scissors to cut in half! Then add eyes, nose, and teeth (if you want, I think it is cuter without).

This piece is what is currently hanging in my bathroom! I also got this idea from another painting, but I don't remember where. I did this on canvas and watered down acrylic paint.

Getting Started

I started this blog, and I hope you enjoy it. Hopefully I will be able to update on a regular basis!
